My main issue with Street Fighter Third Strike

icameheretofight:

You do a random jump in

any other game : you get punished for that shit, hard

3s: you parry the punish, and punish them for trying to punish you

I’m stepping away from fighting games for a little

icameheretofight:

Now, this doesn’t mean I’m abandoning the scene.  However it does mean that I will not be regularly PLAYING fighting games for a little bit.

Why?  To be honest, I’ve gotten board of them.  Could this be to over saturation of the market?  Could this be just me losing interest?  Or could it be me playing them too much and just needing a break?

Well then, what am I going to do?  The same as I’ve always been trying to do.  Push the UK fighting game community as far as I can with all I’ve got.  Just because I’m stepping away from playing as much doesn’t mean I don’t want to be involved.  I’ll still be putting on the Proving Grounds events, as well as helping with the setup for fighting games at i46.  After recently being made a member of Unequalled Media I want to dedicate as much time as I can to organising and helping grow the scene.  I just simply won’t be “practising” as much.  Still down for casuals though and still up for travelling to events to help out and participate.

I’m also getting BACK into competitive PC gaming.  I blame i45 for this.  I saw how massive the scene still is, and how the skill level is far above what it used to be.  I wanted back in and I’m going to get it.  So you could look at it as me being a competitive PC gaming, who organises and helps grow the fighting game community.  I’ve been playing a lot of Call of Duty 4, as well as League of Legends and Counter Strike Source.  I’ll eventually be moving onto StarCraft 2 when I can get myself a copy too.

So yeah, that’s what’s been happening.  I really want to re-iterate that I’m NOT leaving the FGC, nor am I stopping anything that I currently do with it.  I’m simply focussing my efforts on growing it instead of playing in it.
